Building human-centered cultures from the inside-out

Many of us long to create workplaces and educational settings where human needs matter. But we all carry the programming of dehumanizing systems, and our organizational structures and ways of working together often perpetuate these patterns. When things get hard, we default to what’s familiar, even when it contradicts what we believe.

Building human-centered cultures means creating the conditions for everyone—from youth, to staff, to leadership—to thrive. It’s not enough to identify our values: real change requires us to shift our habitual, engrained operating instructions from the inside-out.

I work with youth-serving organizations to do this work, at every level.

hi, I’m Jo.

I'm an educator and facilitator, a lifelong learner, a human who has struggled with belonging for most of my life. I'm compelled by a deep curiosity about what it means to be human, and the question of how to create spaces where people can experience authentic connection.

I'm a neuroscience nerd, a big fan of laughter and play, and a deep believer in the power and importance of relationships.

I've been facilitating experiential leadership development and social-emotional learning with youth and adults since 2011. This work is more than a job to me, it's an extension of who I am.
